Phillip S Currie generally known as Stewart

Looking for the full DOD for Stewart.   Per gravestone inscription he died in 1959.  Need this to help locate an obituary and news article about a Great Northern Paper Co. that he died in.  Any help is appreciated.  Jan Cox

Thank you.  Don't know where you found it; not in the Maine Death Index or SS death Index.

The Maine State Archives index only has deaths from 1960 and later. Several years ago I started transcribing death indexes at the Archives from 1956 to 1959 and putting them on this website. I got as far as "D" before I had to quit. Luckily, Phillip's surname started with "C".

Thanks for the info.  That's a lot of transcribing.  By the way, I believe we are probably cousins via Simon Coolidge.  I saw your post of the old East Dixfield cemetery that was recently rediscovered and the name Coolidge caught my attention.  Went to the Sun Journal and read the article.  My line is through Simon (5th great-grandfather), Moses Coolidge, Mary Coolidge, Mary Ann Flagg, Amos L Cox, Frank L Cox, Vertner Cox (my grandfather).  Nelson Coolidge who rediscovered the cemetery is a 4th cousin.

My Coolidge line is through Moses and Sarah's son Moses who married Lydia Peterson.

I exchanged messages about the cemetery a few days ago with Alan Spaulding, who is also a Flagg descendant. He's wondering if his ancestor Joshua Flagg might be buried there.
