I am a McClure descendant and am searching for information on the McClures in the Sebec area.
James Nesmith McClure (my 3rd g-Grandfather) was born on April 7, 1782, in Cheshire, New Hampshire, his father, James, was 28 and his mother, Mary, was 30. He had one child with Philena Lovell in 1810. He then married Susan Kenney and they had 11 children together between 1808 and 1827. He died in 1855 in Sebec, Maine, at the age of 72, and was buried there. His son, James Lovell McClure was born on September 1, 1810, in Maine, the only child of James Nesmith and Philena. He married Lucinda W. Parsons on March 23, 1839, in Sebec, Maine. They had 11 children in 24 years. He died on September 16, 1886, in Princeton, Minnesota, having lived a long life of 76 years, and was buried there.
That is the sum total of the information I have on the McClures in Maine. The Parsons continue to evade me completely.
On your old web site, you mention: [Note: Laird C. Towle, a Buzzell descendant, was kind enough to provide me with a partial ms. of his "BUZZELL FAMILIES OF NORTH AMERICA", containing all the information on my Buzzell line from Simon the emigrant, to Jonathan b. 1761, where I had been dead-ended for many years. Laird has my sincere thanks for his generosity. I've re-written and condensed the material he sent me to suit my needs for this web page but the generations I mentioned are based almost exclusivly upon information gathered by Mr. Towle. I've also drawn some of my own conclusions and voiced a few of my own questions while doing this (wcl).]
Do you have any additional information on his work, or how I might contact him?
